Successful WIL – Growing WIL programs in science faculties
Successful WIL in Science is being delivered through a disseminated approach with five regional networks, a research node (the Student Voice) and a central on-line hub to connect these networks with relevant and topical webinars and key WIL resources.
Regional networks aim to create discussion amongst regional groups of universities, connect members to the WIL Guide for Science and other project outputs and to build capacity for work-integrated learning in science through peer-to-peer learning. They are inclusive and informal, using distributed leadership to share responsibility and invite participation.
Regional workshops will focus on practical strategies for WIL implementation exploring WIL curriculum issues (assessment, organization, integration) and, particularly, building relationships that involve industry partners in WIL design and delivery. These activities will complement national activities including the annual WIL in Science National Workshop, and a program of WIL in Science webinars.
