Publication of the WIL in Science: Leadership for WIL Final project report

May 12, 2017 Written by Jen Aughterson

The WIL in Science: Leadership for WIL Final project report 2015 – 2016 is now published, and can also be found on the Office of the Chief Scientist website.

The WIL in Science: Leadership for WIL project has established a national network of science WIL leaders, created a national conversation among science faculties and schools about WIL in science degrees, begun the task of building capacity to design and deliver WIL programs, and trialled approaches to WIL program development.

As the project has come to a conclusion, we wish to emphasise that this work continues by providing the foundation for the current project Successful WIL in Science, funded by the Office of Teaching and Learning.

The aim of Successful WIL in Science (2016 – 2018) is to improve employability skills for the future for graduates in science and mathematics by increasing access to and participation in WIL embedded in science degrees. This project draws directly on new understandings from the Lighthouse case studies, which have also fed into WIL resources development. Most importantly, this project draws on the extensive national WIL network that has been established.
