Associate Professor Jo Coldwell-Nielson is an OLT Fellow working on the challenging concept of digital literacy. Jo works in the Department of Information Technology at Deakin University. She is looking for your contribution to a national framework to support digital literacy development. Jo writes…
How do you perceive your digital literacy capacity and preparedness to teach in a technology enhanced environment? What are your perceptions of students’ preparedness to learn in a technology enhanced environment? I’m seeking answers to these questions as part of my OLT Fellowship, Unlocking the code to digital literacy (also see www.decodingdigitalliteracy.org). Work to date has resulted in a cross-disciplinary understanding of digital literacy. The next stage is to construct a digital literacy framework to underpin this understanding which will inform digital literacy skills development within curricula in the future.
I invite you to contribute to this stage of my Fellowship by participating in the survey, Digital Literacy Staff Survey. A Plain Language Statement (PLS) explaining the nature of the research and your commitment, if you chose to participate, is available here for your information. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
I would like to distribute the survey as widely as possible and would appreciate your assistance in doing so. Even if you decide not to participate, please would you share this invitation with your academic colleagues and networks.
